Just order the switch appropriate to the transmission/model year of your tractor and replace it. They're not bad to change. Just remove the top cover of the transmission and follow the wires to the switch. Unhook the wires and unscrew the switch... screw the new one in and rehook the wires... It's easy enough to bypass if needed... but right now it still kinda works... so get a new switch and change it. That will take about the same amount of time as rigging something that could get you killed.
