In 1996, New Holland had most of the parts I wanted, including plates. Inpulse assemblies were $23 each and plates were $12 to $19 each. By 2001, they had almost nothing, and what few plates were still available were $25-$40 each.
You can make or retrofit almost any part from other makes of planters. And, if your soil is rough, adding weight makes the planter work much better. I've got a 6 foot piece of railroad track running sideways through mine. Not needed in fine or sandy soil, but otherwise it makes it work much nicer.
Around here, four-row 309s still show up at auctions dirt cheap, and they often come with many extra plates and parts. I keep buying them when cheap.
