I was mowing with my 5600 and the Hesston Haybine yesterday and the overrun clutch for the PTO came apart, throwing the pto shaft right off the haybine. It is the $70ish one from TSC, with about 50 hours of use. I didn't see any horsepower limits on it, but I fear that I am pushing too much HP through it. I have noticed that the splines were getting a little marred and some implements were hard to attach, but figured that the steel is just softer than the PTO shaft on the tractor. Does anyone have a similar experience? Is there a better/stronger overrun I should be using? They sell one on this site, but it looks exactly like the one I just ruined, I'd rather find the right one if this isn't it. Thanks.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
