I"m thinking of getting a overbore kit 0.20 for my Ford 5000 diesel engine, 256 model. But I know I have read somewhere that overboring fords can be a bad idea due to some casting flaws combined with years of cavitation for cooling system. My cooling system have always used glycol and water as the machine has been used in climate that requiers it. So would you think I could get away with an overbore as I need to rebuild the engine, and want to get it back to specs. Or is this a very very bad idea? Or maybe the casting flaws that ford had didnt exsits in the 5000 engines?
