First off the 3000 is a very nice tractor and parts are readily available at a new holland dealer, online, or most mom and pop tractor dealers. It will mow 4' tall grass but it will work it if it is thick grass. It sounds like it is priced right, may be even cheap, if it is in good condition. Rubber aint cheap and neither are repairs. It is real hard to give an estimation on value with out giving the tractor a good look see. Most would suggest you stay away from the select-o-speed (SOS) transmission, it can be temperamental and parts can be a problem. Another problem with the 3000 is the two stage clutch. If the rear PTO does not stop spinning with the clutch depressed all the way then the PTO portion of the two stage clutch is worn out or out of adjustment. It usually just needs adjusted, which requires splitting the tractor in to. Not a hard job just takes a little time. The 3000 is listed at 38 rear PTO horsepower. Good luck.

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
