Ford has live pto if at all (and a 4-speed _does not_ have live pto), and he is describing an independent pto operation. That is _extremely_ unlikely. There is a very tiny chance someone made some conversion, but this would _not_ be original Ford - it would be some odd-ball retrofit. Next to the serial number is your model number, you may be looking at an 840 which is a 4 speed without live pto from the factory. Never saw a 100 series or older Ford with _independent_ pto, doubt I ever will. Now, which lever are we talking about? The regular pto lever on the left side, the draft/position lever under the seat to the right, or a hydraulic lever below the seat middle, or a Sherman lever somewhere above the clutch pedal, or what the heck lever? As a 4-speed did not come from the factory with independent nor live pto, ask him who made the modification. I kinda doubt he'll have an answer. --->Paul
