1974 Ford 3000, gas, 8 speed trans???(4 high, 4 low). How full is the reservoir supposed to be? I am a complete novice, so please give me an idea on what to look for. I'm guessing that the fill cap is the cap just to the upper-right of the high/low shift lever. Should the fluid level be all the way to the top? Also, what type of fluid should I put in? Does it hurt to mix a new fluid with the existing, even if they are of different types? I have no idea what is in there as I recently purchased the tractor.
