The valves run from either end as follows:- ex-in-in-ex ex-in-in-ex. The setting of the valves is .010" inlet and .012" exhaust and they should be done cold...check them again when the engine has reached working temperature as they will close up slightly and should not be rattling at all, if they do you will probably find that the rocker that is rattling is worn where it rubs on the valve stem, really it should be ground to remove the wear and that will quieten it down. Just in case you don't know (sorry if you do) you set no.1 with No 8 open/No 2 with No 7 open and so on.....John....fergusontractors @ tiscali.co.uk
