The Strathcona Vintage Tractor Association is proud to host its annual Vintage Tractor Pull August 25-26, 2012. The Tractor Pull will be held at the Bremner Historic Site located at 53452 RR 225, Sherwood Park (see map below). In previous years we have had over 100 tractors competing in ten classes from under 2500 lbs (Ultra Flyweight) to 12000 lbs (Class 6). This includes four weight classes for the lighter tractors under 4000 pounds. Weight classes and pull rules are posted at the bottom of the page. We have a drive-on electronic scale for determining tractor-with-operator weight. Vintage tractors must be "stock" 1960 and older to compete, and all competitors are welcome. Non-stock vintage tractors can participate in demonstration pulls. A PTO dyno will be on site to check the horsepower. There are activities for all members of the family including horse and wagon rides, a silent auction, and various vintage farming demonstrations including stooking and harvesting with a threshing machine. Food concessions are on site as well as grandstands and a shelter tent for spectators if you choose. You may bring your own lawn chairs if you wish. A $5 admission fee will be charged at the gate for spectators and pullers. Pullers will NOT be charged addtional hook fees.
Weighing in and registration starts late afternoon Friday and into the evening, and drivers are required to attend a safety meeting before pulling on Saturday and Sunday mornings. Participants are required to read and sign a legal waiver absolving the SVTA and its members of any responsibility or incident that might arise during the event. Pullers are encouraged to read our 3rd party insurance coverage requirements (posted on this website) before arriving at the pull. When registering, pullers will be required to sign an insurance declaration in addition to the waiver.
