This is the pump and mounting plate upside down. You can see the bit of wire connected to the stuck valve more clearly in this pick. The valve was a copper or brass rod that I could access from either side of the pump. One side of the rod had a loop or hook which I pushed that bit of wire through and the other side was the connector which was linked to the lever system on the tractor's 3 point linkage quadrant. I bought a new part then used a brass drift/ soft metal hammer to drive the stuck rod out of the pump. I was sure I would break it, but it eventually moved and after being cleaned with 1200 grit glass paper I oiled and put the same one back in. It's been running ever since, and I run a Fel from it.
