Gravity fed carb should have no differance once it starts cranking...Supposedly. You might want to remove the plug on the bottom of the carb and install a brass nipple qith barbed end onto which you can slip a clear plastic tube over. Keep the other end of the tube open and then open the fuel flow valve to the carb. Hold the open end of the tube above the base of the carb. The fuel should stop flowing and give you an exact level of the fuel inside the carb. This is how to check your float level inside the carb. If the fuel continues to flow out the end of the open tube when held higher than the base of the carb it is very possible your float needle seat is stuck open.
