Hello, I'm running a TO-35 on 12 volt with the old generator. I put in a $31.00 walmart 12 volt fredom battery and side mount cables. Changed the coil to 12 v. replaced the headlamps to 12v. and adjusted the regulator to regulate at 13.9 . That was 3 years ago and it always starts and cranks fast and i seldom use the tractor.A tractor doesen't need an alternator as they don't have any accessories (A/C -Heater-wipers-etc.) The generator will keep up fine. Also the new 12v. fredom batterys takes and hold a charge a lot better, the amp gauge doesen't show a high charge rate all the time like it did on 6 v. -I'm a mechanic by trade ( 35 years)
