Noise with the clutch pedal pushed in is a faulty release bearing. The clutch disc has been released by the fywheel and is not turning. Noise with the clutch pedal released is a faulty input shaft bearing in the transmission. The clutch disc is fully engaged and unless slipping will not make noise at all. If slipping badly it should make a foul odor similiar to overheated brakes.
Release bearing is probably out of grease. If you replace the clutch, Kevlar clutches do not freeze to the flywheel. However, Kevlar is far less forgiving of slippage.
Do some research. Wife's Fergy '20 is Kevlar. 80 hours and no problems. Yet. Have not blocked the clutch since install, never stuck.
