Take your steering box apart and take the housing and shaft to a seal and bearing specialist and ask for the slimmest modern seal available. Then cut the metal rim off the old seal leaving a slight bit of the insert. Place the new seal in the housing and then glue and tap the old metal face back on so it looks original. Fill the box with grease and drill and tap a hole somewhere not too obvious like under the battery and insert a grease zerk. Now grease until you see some grease come out the top of the steering shaft. That top bearing never gets lubed. You should never have to look at it again! Sam
