Unfortunatelly my TO-30's are sitting outdoors in this bad ice storm we had. I wanted to use one of them to plow snow.
The one I wanted to use turned over and ran for about a second then died and wouldn't crank at all. I figured it was a bad battery so I charged it, no luck. Next day I buy another battery and replace it. New battery makes the engine turn over and run for about a second, then died and wouldn't crank at all. Also there is a faint noise with the ignition switch on, like a short or something. I hope I don't have chunks of ice inside the tractor and really blow something up. It baffles me that the tractor turned over once each day. What sort of problem could this be?
My other tractor had the carburetor off for rebuilding. And now the air hose is so stiff and tight I can't get it back on. Any tips?

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
