The nose cone is for sale on here for 56 & change. I wouldn't try a weld unless you spent all day prepping and aligning to a couple thou... if the weld job turns out well, keep it for a spare. That is what the feller I bought the 202 thought, he figured the starter cone was broke, it was, the weld broke, he bought a whole new starter... but the issues were deeper than that part. As far as tanks go... don't get me started on Standards!!!!! Actually, the diesel 'almost' started today. It will tomorrow, to drive itself onto the operating table... if a timing chain doesn't stop the smoke.... the back half is getting amputated... I bet dollars to dunkin donuts a 'petrol' Standard has the same tank as a diesel... but the extra fitting bosses never punched... how far off are the two??? Not the valve cover I hope...
