So what your saying is you need to adjust the draft control plunger to take up the slack in the spring? With excessive clearance the lift will still work but the automatic draft control won"t work properly. With an implement such as a 2 bottom plow raised there should be .020 clearance between the spring and the plunger. More than likely you will have to heat the plunger cherry red to get it turn. They have been on there too many years without being adjusted or greased and it is probably rusted up tight. If it seems like it will not turn do not force it. You can bend the fork and do other damage. Heat and rust penetrant will be your friend on this job.
