Feed a suitable wire rope or steel cable through the tube , once through fray the end really well , then withdraw the cable a little at at time twisting it as you go . The sharp spring steel fibre ends scour the inner walls of the tube very well, wash afterwards. This works really well for the small oil gauge tubes as well but in that case use a bicycle cable.
