I had a MM 1355 for sale last summer. Mr. Woodrmm called and spoke for the tractor. We agreed that he could put some money down on it and the remainder could be paid at the time of pick up. That was in June. Having heard nothing more from him, I contacted him again in Aug. or Sept. (Can't recall w/o looking back) He told me that he'd lost my number and that he was still trying to find someone to haul the tractor for him. By October, I still had heard nothing so I attempted to call him again. He no longer answers his phone nor returns the numerous messages I have left him. I looked up what I believe to be his home number and tried him there. I have only gotten a woman that I presume to be his wife. She always says that she will give him the message to call me but I have yet to get that call. This AM I called and asked if he was there. She said, Yes, just a minute..." Then, a few seconds later... "Oh, I guess he's in the shower." I left my number again but have still received no call. I don't want to sell a tractor out from under a guy that has $1000 down money on it but I can't sit on it forever. In my messages I told him that he didn't necessarily have to move it immediately but I would like the balance due since we are now pushing 6 months.

What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
