On 706's for the most part i set then at around 235-245 when i install a new T/A . I also install at that time a new MCV pump and new spring kit in the MCV , therefore you have to check pressure and trim the pressure reg . spring to set it . When i am doing tis i have already went thru the MCV with new O/Rings and gskt. So when it goes out the door i know that i have done everything i could do to make it wright and not see it again . If you have looked over my old posts then you should know how to do the adjustments with out me going over this again. BUT i will if ya need me to .

Some of us grew up thinking that an air filter was a paper thing that allowed air to pass while trapping dirt particles of a particles of a certain size. What a surprise to open up your first old tractor's air filter case and find a can that appears to be filled with the scrap metal swept from around a machine shop metal lathe. To top that off, you have a cup with oil in it ("why would you want to lubricate your carburetor?"). On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
