I bet it doesn't do that if you have TA lever back when you push clutch in. Sounds like you are releasing the direct drive TA clutch before the main clutch releases and it is down shifting ito TA low side but it sprague slips some before it takes ahold. Try readjusting dump valve so red light gots out just a bit before main clutch engages. If red light isn't working, run up a grade, adjust so with tractor creeping backwards it stops moving back just before main clutch engages starting to pull you forward. Do this with ta lever ahead in Direct Drive. Also, make sure you haven't given clutch too much free play trying to overcome worn clutch slipping.
