Take a look on the suction side of the pump as that is where the most wear occurs. There is also 20-25% more load on the idler gear than on the drive gear so take a look at the bearings for the idler shaft. An old rule was if you have to put more than 60% of the cost of a new pump in the old one don't do it. Now also clean the system good when you get your pump. There is also a rule of thumb if you do not flush the system well the second pump will not last near as long as the old pump. New pump, new fluid new filter and then you will be set.
