Very good utility unit. Far better than an N series Ford which is in the same price range. Over double the HP as well. Not that it matters, but you might want to check the S/N on it, 300's were only made in '55 and '56. As far as checking out the tractor itself, pay attention to the T/A (if its got it), touch valves, and the live pto. All of these were pretty robust (T/A's not withstanding when hit hard for years) but can be more than a couple of bucks to fix if bad. What kind of 3 point is on it? I thought fast hitch was an option from the factory only(?). Not that an aftermarket or adapter could not be in place. As far as parts and equipment, parts are no problem and if the three point is complete, get whatever you need in either trailer or three point; any color or brand should fit. Just watch the ball catagory on the link arms. Are they cat. I or II or combo?

He has patiently suffered my incessant chit chat on the subject of tractors for longer than I care to remember, and on many occasions he has put himself out, dropped what ever it was he was doing, to come and lend a hand cranking handles, or loading a find onto a trailer. Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects. ... [Read Article]
