I guess it"s my turn in the barrel with leaking lower seal. Got the pedestal out, no problem. Made a 6.5x6.5 wood box out of 2x12"s like the pictures on the link I found researching this forum. Pounded on the shaft to break the gear loose until I"m blue in the face, can"t get it to move. Got .035 end play on the shaft, placed a .035 shim between the gear and the housing so I know it should move at least that much. Won"t budge with a 4lb hammer. Is it safe to heat the gear hub? Or any other suggestions?
