Look at the Brown Manufacturing website and the Tree Cutter video. The cutting of bigger stuff up to 8 inch is done via backing into the tree. 64 hp is enough to do what I am cutting. The big stumps I find are left and I"ll come back with a Shaver SC50 stump grinder. Works good, we have done hundreds and only have a couple thousand to do as we clear cut another 120 acres. I think my dozer is 74 hp. Brown says to ALWAYS run the cutter at 1000 rpm. With the powershift tranny I can only do that when I can see there are no stumps or rocks to hit as the ground speed is a bit too fast for my blood. So, I find myself tending the throttle a lot. Some day I do intend to put a Tach on the engine and scope the pto shaft just to be sure what the rpm is doing.
