The low hours isn't surprising if it were really owned by a DNR. Typically, in the '60's, DNR's in the eastern U.S. bought these & worse (Oliver OC3's) for forest fire fighting. Seldom did they have experienced operators, and sometimes for years, no operators, & the machines sit idle til no one was left in the organization that knew anything about them, then they were declared surplus & auctioned off. When they did work it was only during the 6 mo. fire season & they pulled plows to make a fireline, so they were never overworked & mostly neglected. They never proved efficient in the eastern mountains because by the time they took them to a remote location the fire was either out or under control.
