If you have the hydraulic track adjusters on those the adjustment is fairly simple. On the side by the ilder bracket there is a plug, You remove the plug and use a grease gun to insert grease and push the front ilder forward. You will want no more than 1 -2 Inches drop in the track as measures from the front Ilder across to the top roller. If you leak the oil out the back end they you will have to get a new seal kit to fix it. Some guys will drive backwards on to a block of wood to check the pitch of the chain while they are at it. Let them know the amount of wear in the chain and how much use may be left--which is dependant on how you use the machine. You will not want to adjust the track so that the front of the idler bracket extends beyond the front of the track frame. If it does it mean the tracks are worn out and either you need the pins and bushings turned or you need new rails. You tracks are in destruction. If it is the older screw type, just tighten it manually with the same amount of tension

Although he himself has never actually owned or restored a tractor, he was always enthusiastic and always around helping with other peoples projects.
