Your machine is probably 30 years young and oils have changed a lot since then,the simplest way to manage the power train oils is use a HyTrans oil in the shuttle,transmission and rear axle,all backhoes have the complaint that they will slow up on inclines but remember that they are carrying a full load and it is normal for them to lose speed on an incline,having had lots of this complaint over the years we check to see if they can spin the wheels when loading the front bucket in first gear,if they can do that it's as good as it gets,make sure the engine is running right,check that the throttle cable is pulling the lever on the pump against the stop,do a stall test,with the machine warmed up and out of gear start the engine and go to full throttle,note the techo reading,go back to low idle,apply the brakes,select fourth gear,put the shuttle in forward,increase the engine speed slowly to full throttle and note the techo reading,do the same test in reverse and compare them,if the reading differs it would indicate one of the clutches has an issue,if both are the same and it is pulling the engine down around 400 rpm all is good.if it is not pulling the engine down then there is a problem with the torque,if it is pulling the engine down more that would indicate the engine has an issue.
