I'm not trying to sound sour but I'm looking for some helpful insight....Early - mid 70's John Deere 310 Backhoe, have had it for almost 15 years now. Probably put in the area of 1500 hours on it, normal maintenance for an older machine but have had the JD dealer rebuild the pump twice for leaking and it's started again. Less than 5 hours on the rebuild this time before hyd oil started blowing out past the shaft seal. Using JD brand oil too.. I'm checking a few things to try and say the pump isn't the problem but it's not looking good. Reman? Just buy New? Look for a newer machine?? $6-800 every 5 hours is going to get expensive.....
