A 440 went for almost $2300 here a few months back at an auction and it was really, really rough. I wouldn't have given $800 for it, but then the price is always too high for everyone except the fellow who buys it. If it isn't all beat up and everything works okay, I would think a 420-430 should be worth $3,000. One thing about those 420-430 motors is that they don't cost a lot of money to overhaul. If the timing is on and the points/condenser/coil is in good shape they are good starters in cold weather, even with the 6 volt system.
