If you are going to need a winch, you better get the one that already has it. I think you would be very hard pressed to put a winch on the 20k unit for 5k. I say this because I fell into a deal on a dozer identical to mine, with a shot UC. The parts dozer had a winch that I have no use for so I stopped by Iron Peddlers on the way home to see if they would be interested. Guy hopped on the trailer put it in free wheel, pulled some cable out, made sure the all the linkage/plumbing was there and offered me $3,500 on the spot. This is for a D3 size machine. So between their mark up, and the difference between a D3 and D4 I dont think 5k is out of line for a mounted/working winch.
