As far as crawlers go the TD-6 is a nice little machine but, it is a gas start diesel unless you have a TD-6-62 then it is the 560 Diesel engine. I am guessing you have found the early gas start. Like the other guys said parts can be a issue but, parts are a issue with all "old" tractors except the common ones. The engine parts are still available from Case. They are very expensive though. I just did a engine in a MD. Head cracking can be a issue if not operated correctly. If you follow the correct procedure you will be fine. Honestly the undercarriage will be the most expensive fix if that needs work. They make about 35 hp but my little JD MC is only about 22 and it can move and do things you wouldn't think it could. The TD-6 is heavier and more power. I would like to find one to go with my gas start collection one day. They are just no fun to haul and load and unload on my gooseneck. I wouldn't be the slightest bit scared of it. And just because it's not a new D-6 or D-8 Cat if you take your time it will push dirt around fine and still be small enough to handle easily. Good luck. It was on his farm that I learned to use the combination hand clutch and brake on a John D
