That sounds like the forward clutch pack is slipping,could be due to the clutch discs worn,the Belleville spring cracked or not enough fluid pressure to squeeze the discs together,when you got a good reverse that means that the torque,the charge pump and reverse clutch is OK,about the only thing you can do with that shuttle in situ is check the F/R linkage and the pressure.
