Boy you saved me.. I was not going to ask, I did not even understand the question. I thought I had been missing something all these years. Cross tie block layed down right at the joint of track pad 2/3 then back up till ever thing gets tight flop it over and if a tractor, or come along at the most pull it to 10 o clock like old said and drive that pin in. Tonight sitting here I can actually say sure do wish I had a 100 dollar bill for ever one I have drove in. We used to have a 20 pound sledge on the service truck. If you missed there went the handle but sure would move that pin. Latter years I leaned take it to a grinder and really clean it, leave it in the freezer over night and job was easy. Thos little washers was another thing. O he never asked where they go.
