Anyone have experience on removing the engine from a 440 crawler loader. Main clutch is stuck and housing is full of mouse nest.
Looks like it will be difficult to work around loader.

Do I have to pull the hard nose/grill/hydraulic reservoir? Or is there enough room to pull the engine after removing the radiator?

It's been a long time, but I don't recall pulling off the nose. You do have to take the pump drive off the front of the engine. Whether you need to pull the pump depends on the type of drive. If you have to pull the pump you may as well pull the nose and replace the captive nuts that fasten the belly pan on.

Is it gas (440 IC) or diesel (440 ICD)?
The gas has the pump made in the front of the engine. The diesel has a pump in front on the crankshaft.
