T340 brakes

I am trying to put new brakes on a t340 cralwer. I have spilt the track open and not I am trying to take the final drives off to get the brakes. However I can not seem to get the final drive housing apart from the rest of the tractor. My question is, can I take this final drive off without taking the top cover off the transmission or removing any retaining pieces on the drive shaft? Any tips on taking this final drive drop housing apart?
Thanks

sven I have parted many of those things but been 20 years ago. I am almost certian you have to pull the fuel tank, top cover, and steering clutches, remove the flange or something there on a short pinion. I know one of the older guys that worked for me , will be in the morning but will call and get you some help if someone else does not chime in. I was really thinking the brakes could be removed just by pulling the top pinion and not removing the finals. The brakes are under the rear cover , I believe you remove a small cap put a boldt in and just pull the pinion then unboldt the brakes and lift out. Should not have to remove the finals or for that matter break the tracks if my memory serves me right.

I have the final drive manual in front of me and I have done this operation on my own machine although quite some time ago. No need to do anything with the transmission cover or internals. There are 5 bolts, two studs, and a dowel supporting the sprocket drive carrier. Work that off, supporting its weight with some kind of hoist. May take soem coaxing. Then remove the pivot brake carrier from the brake housing. I could scan and send you a few pages if needed.

Im going to be doing the same thing to my T340A in the next month or two, do you know if the disks off a SM though 450 are the same, read somewhere they were?
