on my lift lever which is to the right of mt seat, there are 2 holes to put screws in. the front onr screws in ok, but the back one doesnt screw in. it just goes straight thru. you have to put a nut on it to hole it. i noticed there is a third hole on the plate that you screw in. could the second screw go in that hole? instead of straight across? thanks

when i hooked it back up yesterday, it wanted to raise the lift at times when i had the blade on it, it has never done this before

There are two types of levers. 2 bolt and three bolt. There is also an in-line two bolt. (9N style)

The basic Ferguson has a lever that is flat with a flair at the bottom. This wider triangular base accomidates two bolts side by side.

The lever slips into a slot then the two bolts hold it in place. It sounds like one side is stripped out. you can fix with a helicoil or replace the base. (~$24.00)

A heli-coil is a threaded insert that can be used to fix stripped out threads.

Probally easier to drill to the next size bigger bolt and re-tap the hole.

No there are no gear issues with the lift lever.

That said there is a lift lever adjustment that may need to be done.

John(UK) has an infor sheet he can send you on this.

I sent you the info for adjusting the Lever but you should also check for any free-play (in and out) in the Draft Control Spring at the back of the seat. If there is more than .020" it COULD cause the problem you are having but usually it does need more free play than this to give this kind of problem. If there is a lot of free play like that it will be causing the Control Valve to move too freely. If the Lever is too loose and will not stay in one position, this will also cause the problem, so the Castle nut at the bottom needs tightening slightly until the Lever will stay in place.....John(UK)
