Missing Part on Super A

I believe there should be some type of cap to cover
this hole. I looked through my part catalog but
didn't see anything. Does anyone know what it's
called or where I can get a replacement?

Thanks!
Allen

That is the hole to access the grease fitting for the throwout bearing. There was a removable plug in it from the factory.

Many tractors don't have it anymore, they are easy to lose. It won't hurt anything for it to be missing, but you may find one in a tractor salvage yard.

I would plug it with something. I had mice get into my MF through a hole just about that size and believe me you never saw such a stinking mess. Nearly ruined everything.

They arent that haed to find and being open will not hurt anything either. There is a grease fitting for the throw-out bearing in there that needs maybe two pumps a yr no more than you will use the tractor as the bearing only gets used with clutch enguaged. Check your manual and yes just regular grease nothing special.

(quoted from post at 10:44:50 01/06/14) ok thanks! I didn't realize there was a grease fitting in there. I need to start using it.
ou need to start using the Owner's Manual too. You probably haven't been oiling the fan hub either.

I agree. Pumping 15 strokes into the Pilot., or t/o bearing will over grease and cause issues. Manuals are so very important. Jim
