My tractor runs better than it ever has. I want to thank everyone for their input. I cut my teeth on 8N ford tractors, but until I bought this had never been on a 2n or 9n. I always liked them I thought the front a back wheels were cool and I just liked them. This tractor was shot when I got it and I rebuilt it two years ago. I was never impressed at all with it and chalked it up to being a 2n. Since I got rid of the extra ballast resistor I am in love with the n series tractors again, thanks to you all! I put on that Zane thang and I must say that it was Money well spent.

Glad to here you are a happy N guy again.
I been dealing with these old N's all my 56 years and I have to agree, they can be just like a woman. They do have moods. LOL !!!

Glad you got it running right. There sure is a lot of confusion about those danged resistors. Also agree that the Zane thang is a good upgrade on the 9/2N.

Got my Zane Thang sitting on diningroom table (since it's never used for eating) waiting on warmer weather to arrive plus a few small repairs like the radiator to start and then....
