Super A Govenor

A few months ago I posted asking questions about my Super A's govenor... well I have been tinkering with it since then trying this and that and I found that the govenor speed change lever had enough slop in it that it would go to somewhere near WOT and stick there. I made a bushing and got the free play out and it runs like a top now. The only issue I had after that was that it wanted to hunt but I was able to adjust that out. This is the frist time since I have had the tractor (6 years) that the I could get it to idle down to a really slow idle speed and then open it up and it run at full throttle...I even found that I didn't have to run it full throttle to run my brush hog, I could idle back to somewhere around 2/3's and it would work just fine. Wow it sure is funny how well they really run when things are fixed right LOL!!!!!!!!

Yes having that area rebushed and the play out of the spring and throttle set to the carb sure makes them operate better. I have repaired a bunch of them and have one rite now to do. A,B and Cs all can have the same problem.
