Ashamed to admit it, but I left the swinging drawbar on when I was brushhogging on the 8n. It cleared just fine, until I raised it up.

Broke off one of the four bolts where it bolts around the PTO in the back. But now the bad news: I cracked the casting on the bottom left bolt as you look at the PTO shaft. I have another parts 8n.

Do you reccomend I replace the whole casting for the rear end center section, or is this worthy of trying to braze the casting and tap out the other bolt?

I really like the drawbar, but I won;t ever brush hog with it again.

I'll get more crap for this than a Christmas goose but I had one brought to me that did the same thing. The guy had no money and no desire to make it like new.

We packed the hole with JB weld and since there's no pressure it's been holding for over 20 years.

The hole was at least the size of a 50¢ piece.

I leave the draw bar on all the time I just make sure I swing it all the way to the side so it will then clear just fine. May not work with all brush hogs but did with the ones I have had

I agree with Ron/PA. JB weld it or braze it (I would prefer the latter). Assuming there's no structural damage and since there's no fluid pressure, it's a simple fix that preserves your parts tractor parts for real booboos.

post a pic.

if it is just a broke out hole of 1 of the 4 bolts holding the bearing carrier in.. I would not be overly concerned and would braxe and retap it.
