Difference between a IH 37 and IH 370?

How do you determine what disk you have - IH 37 or IH 370? The decal on back in the middle is gone. I think some of the differences might be the scrapers? It does have the adjustable scrapers and the actual scraper at the end is replaceable. The disk gang bearings are greaseable as well as the wheel bearings. Are there other readily identifiable characteristics of each?? Thank you.

A 37 is an old wheel disk.A 370 is a lot newer model.About the only "similarity" is the red color and the IH decal.

If I am not mistaken the 370 should have bearing retainers that will let the disc axle and bearing drop out from under them, 37 will completely enclose the bearing.

Very early 37"s had white iron bearings, then sealed bearings, then the regreaseable bearings. 370"s had a couple of hitch options as well, same basic frame, regreaseable bearings.

check out caseih online parts manuals for comparison. i"ve got a 370 if you need me to check something in particular. there were lots of different variations. looks like the 37 could have had spool bearings or a couple different types of ball bearings. 370 would only be the ball bearings with the square flange.

How to tell a 37 from a 370 ?? a 37 the angle iron is all the same size a 370 uses structural iron where the uprite leg is longer then it is wide , a 37 has lighter spools between the blades a 370 has a raised ridge in the middle of the spool . A 370 is heavier . Some 37's use a old style grease bearing and some used a sealed bearing all the 370's i have seen use a greaseable sealed bearing . But the best way is the angle iron .
