8N hydraulic control arm issue

Ok, I am not familar with the 8N, but have a friend who is asking for help with his. I have not looked at it myself, but he tells me that the control arm inside came off the intake control valve that operates the pump. So he doesnt know if he needs the control arm or a new intake control valve. If you can help me in any way with what he needs to do, or get parts, it would be greatly appreciated.

May not need either one. The control arm could have just came out of the control valve socket; kinda like your hip bones.

Pull the right side inspection port(if sitting, by your right heel). With everything OFF stick your hand in the oil and follow the arm to the valve. The ball end should be in the socket. If the ball broke off, yep new arm or some hefting re-engineering and fabrication to reattach.

If it just popped out, you make get lucky and fiddle it back. Otherwise you will need to loosen the top cover and guide it back. Or drain oil, loosen pump and do it that way.

Makes one wonder how he knows it came off.
Maybe he already has the inspection cover off and felt in there?
It's just a ball and socket with the ball on the end of the rod. #3
