1066 starting circuit

We have a 1066 with a fault in the starting circuit, I have power to the key and then to the push button, but evidently not to the starter, Tomorrow I will look further, seem to remember somebody telling me about another relay between the button and starter, does it exist or do I just need to follow the wire from the button to the starter? Thanks Mike

if it is like the 1486 there is a clutch safety switch so the clutch must be depressed before the starter can be engaged. kind of tricky to find, but take the hood off on the left side of the tractor and look at the fire wall at about eye level. you will see a plug with two wires and a little switch going thru the fire wall. unplug the switch and check for corrosion. you may just need to shine up the connections.

Yes there's a clutch safety switch under the operators station on the left side behind the step. Two wires and a button. Easy to locate if its an open station tractor. Mines acting up on my 966 right now.

Doh! I even know about the switch and didn't think about it. If thats it, it will mean I spent a couple of hours digging out the push butto n that I didn't need to. Oh well. Thanks Guys.
