The displacement is different but I think the stroke is longer for the 450 to get that additional displacement. Here is the engine data.

After the farmall 400 engines got a dipstick added to the block as standard equipment, which is the biggest part of them. Both the farmall 264 and 281 engines have the same casting number on the block. Later C 264 used the same connecting rod as a C 281 with the smaller piston pin bushing as standard. They fit small pin pistons without adapter bushings.
Any sleeve that will fit a C264 will fit a C281 block. Would guess now you can find a lot more C264 engines with C 281 diameter pistons than not.
