Farmall 460 pulling tractor front end

I'm looking for a Farmall 460 to build into a puller. I want to build a rigid front end from a wagon running gear but I haven't done that before. Does anyone know if it's better to start with a 460 with a factory wide front, or is narrow front better, or does it matter?

Guess I would start with a factory wide front and unless I needed to shead more weight I would use the factory wide front.

I have seen to many home made fronts fail in pulls.

If you don"t want the factory front to pivot just block it at the frame to reduce pivot.

If you are looking for a wide front I have and after market Norden wide front for sale instead of destroying a factory IH wide front that would cost a lot more if interested email me I am located in northern ILL.

Have you considered a 'wheatland'style front,or a
combine axle?I would think for a 'puller' you would
want a narrow/tricycle front.
