Ford I9-II7 Loader Manual

I recently purchased a Jubilee with a I9-II7 Loader. The loader is not attached and has never been mounted on this tractor. Can anyone give me a website or advise on how to mount the loader.I am mainly worried about how to set up the hydraulics and mount the main frame to the tractor. There is a hydro line on the right side of the seat and I believe this is for the 3 point. Can I plumb the loader into this system?

The Ford 19-117 is also known as the Ford Model 68 Standard loader. The front attaching kit (19-119) for mounting the Model 68 on the NAA is item #3 and associated components in the parts diagram below. Unless you get lucky I suspect you will have to fabricate it. A front pump mounted to the pedestal (4) and shaft driven off the crankshaft pulley was used to supply hydraulic power for the loader. The internal hydraulics on the tractor could be used but it would be a poor performer and require some replumbing of the hydraulics. I build loader mounts and may be able to help if you are not in a rush.

Can anyone send pics of the model 68 loader attached. to a NAA. I would like to see the brackets mounted and if you have it hooked up to the tractors internal hydraulics please show how you hooked up the lines

The front bracket simply bolts to the front axle support - the rear brackets under the rear axle. I have never seen one in the flesh but looking at pictures it appears the loader is a "drive-in" design. Two pins on the subframe in the front engage the reinforced holes on the lower outside of the front bracket. The rear of the subframe on either side engages the two brackets bolted to the rear axle. My guess is you simply block the loader up and drive the tractor into it to mount it, back it out to dismount it.

No control valve on the Model 68 - it had a trip bucket and SA lift cylinders. You plumb the lift cylinders to a port on the optional Ford Selectrol Valve mounted under the operator's seat and use the 3pt control lever to raise and lower the loader. The Selectrol diverter valve allowed you to alternately select either the loader [u:61a741e46b][b:61a741e46b]or[/b:61a741e46b][/u:61a741e46b] the 3pt for use - it was a one or the other arrangement - you didn't get both simultaneously. The Selectrol valve is now as rare as hens teeth.



Most people mount an ordinary open center control valve someplace covenient like a on a fender and either modify the blockoff plate to supply it or run it off a front pump. You can also chain down the lift arms and use the exiting port on the blockoff plate without any modification. Another alternantive is to cut the supply line from the pump in half and and plumb an open center control valve in between the pump and the 3pt. I took that one step urther and devised a replacement for the OEM pump. That makes it possibl to upgrade to a cheap modern pump with a higher lflow rate and gives you easy access to the supply and return lines fro adding external hydraulic equipment like a loader.

Thanks That's a big help. I got the tractor and loader home and I do have the front bracket and rears. Thanks for the help I have been looking for photos of the front bracket on the tractor but have not found one yet. The rears are pretty self explanatory.

Based on the pictures the plate bolts to the front of the axle support using three bolts. The bolt that retains the axle pin goes in the center hole, the other two bolt holes have to be drilled using the plate as a template. The two struts replace the bottom two bolts in the axle support to motor flange and attach to the bottom of the plate to stiffen it.

Ken, Would you happen to have an installation manual for the I9-II7 ford loader? I cannot find anything except for parts manuals. I would be very grateful if you could help.

I know I'm digging up ancient history on this thread, but... I've got an 8N with the I9-II7/Model 68 already on it, and I'd love some guidance/documentation on the installation/removal process.

I'd like to get the loader off to do some restoration and maintenance on the tractor. Having used it for a while, it seems obvious enough what needs to be unhooked to get the unit removed, but I'd really like to get it back onto the tractor again - without killing myself, the loader, or the tractor in the process! I hear it's kind of heavy...
