I have 2 12 volt 8-n's which were running great until we had a month or more of constant rain. Despite both being in a shed, neither will start, they get gas but no spark. Seems I've had this trouble before. Is this a common problem, and what might I try? Thanks

I would be thinking about maybe a heat lamp on the distributors. You can get a lot of condensation even under cover. I know at time my whole tractor is wet and it is under cover. Always or most of the time starts tho! one side mount and one magneto!

Clean the points. Good chance they have gotten corrded from sitting in the wet weather.

ruce, Where can I get a gasket for the side mount dist. I got one that came with a dust cover but book nor this site show a gasket for the side mount dist cap. Just wondering!

I didn't see one on nnalert's either. I swear it has one; I'll look at the 51 or the 740 tomorrow & make sure CRS hasn't struck again.

I've often used ether the dry out the distributor. Some of the safety police might object to this. But it evaporate real quick and works.
