Will Kerosene Stabilize gas

Going back to the adding of kerosene in tractors. Will the addition of kerosene help preserve a tank of gas ? What is the basis of STABIL?

I doubt that adding kerosine would do much to preserve gas. The Bta-Bil MSDS isn't too explicit. The active ingredient is probably BHT.

Seafoam supposed to stabilized gas for 2 years... never tried it like that tho. Was reading it on their site couple nights ago. http://www.seafoamsales.com/how-to-use-sea-foam-motor-treatment.html#nogo 1 oz per gallon for 2 years. May be similar in cost to others?

Why reinvent the wheel, there is already the product Sta-Bil made for that, other than u going to say I already have kero sitting around the house... just sayin

I don't think Sea Foam is what it used to be, I have put some in my generator, and it did not stabilize the gas. so far the best thing I have found, on paper, is a stabilizer Briggs and Stratton is selling, it seems to be the real deal and not using ISP to do its job like Stabil and SeaFoam do.
