#60 Plow Help

Will someone with a #60 plow(two fourteens) please measure the length of the rod running along the top of the plow(say from bend to bend) and let me know the length of it? I have a set of three fourteens and in the process of reducing it down to two bottoms and and I know that rod will have to be shortened, but don't know by how much. Trying to get ready for "Plow Day" next week. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It should be exactly the same amount shorter as the plow is made shorter. Thus if the share to share distance is measured (at the same angle as the rod is running along the spine) removing that much should be exactly correct. Jim

There aren't a lot of #60's out there. I've got two of them, but they're the 3-4 bottom type so I can't help with measurements.

What I would do is get the plow all put back together, except for the rod. Lift the front with the cylinder then jack the rear up so it is setting level. Then measure how much rod you need.

That's how I did my #8 when I reduced it to two bottoms.
